Student Internships
Internships are currently available to juniors and seniors and offer an excellent opportunity to work alongside a professional in the community. This is a semester course and students attend the internship during one 80-minute period every day or, if the student's schedule allows, two 80-minute class periods every day. Additional coursework is assigned throughout the semester. See your guidance counselor today to find out how this exciting course can be added to your schedule. The application as well as all required forms can be accessed through SchooLinks. Students will also be required to obtain three teacher recommendations. Links to these documents are provided below. Contact Mrs. Niebrugge at (217) 639-5118 for more information or send her a message.
Fall Internship Deadlines:
The application and three teacher recommendations are due by March 7, 2025
The travel waiver, contact information form, work schedule, and agreement are due by May 1, 2025
Spring Internship Deadlines:
The application, travel waiver, contact information form, work schedule, and agreement as well as three teacher recommendations are due by December 1, 2025

Log into SchooLinks via Clever Access Link Here; Select Student Email Login (Chrome works best)
In SchooLinks: to start the application process click on the Programs widget on the left, then click on Program Exploration.
Choose Workplace Experience Program: Internship '25-'26 or once logged into SchooLinks, use this link to take you directly to the SchooLinks Application.
Complete the Internship Application answering all questions. Be sure to pay special attention to the opportunities available and select your top three, ranking them in order by highest interest. If you have an opportunity in mind that is not listed, be sure to select that option. If you already have a job and wish to have it approved as an internship opportunity, be sure to select that option. The list of opportunities continues to grow each semester. This does not mean you have to include an internship from this list; this is just a list of potential opportunities and your selection of one does not guarantee your placement.
Use the link to access the Teacher Recommendation form. Email the form to three teachers to complete.
The application and three teacher recommendations are due by March 7, 2025.
Once the above forms are complete, you will be notified on next steps via email.
All remaining forms are due by May 1, 2025.
