"Calling all singers: Charleston High School's award-winning a cappella group, Maximum Forte, is looking for its next group of singing superstars. Any 8th graders that have a high interest in a cappella singing, dancing, and/or beatboxing, please join Mrs. Sharp in the Band Room on Tuesday, May 14th at 8:05 to get more information about their upcoming auditions. She will also have information about summer musical theatre/choral music camp opportunities for 7th and 8th graders as well as paperwork regarding the CHS Chorus Trip to New Orleans in March of 2025 for incoming freshmen registered for chorus for next year."
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. In 2013, Brigadier General Miyako Schanely made history as the first female
engineer in the Army Reserve and second in the Army to make general officer
following her promotion ceremony at the 412th Theater Engineer Command
headquarters in Vicksburg, Mississippi. It also made her the second Japanese-
American woman to reach the flag rank.
Thanks to student’s great success on MAP testing, Mr, Kanouse now has PINK hair and will be making a donation because we had 286 stude4nts show growth in reading and math MAP and a $286 donation will be made to a family that is experiencing cancer. Thank you for your great efforts.
