Today your Social Studies teachers want to wish everyone a happy Constitution Day! This day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. It's also known as Constitution and Citizenship Day, and it honors the rights that the Constitution guarantees to Americans.

This month is Hispanic Heritage Month. The timeframe of this month is significant because many Central American countries celebrate their independence days within these dates, beginning on September 15 with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Our Weekly focus this week is to Step Up and Step In. CMS staff will be looking for students who can help stop a negative situation by stepping up and stepping in.

CMS Press is back, and we are looking for the next group of students who are ready to be a part of our 24-25 team.  If you like writing, taking pictures, interviewing others, or keeping up on the latest news and trends, then the CMS Press has a spot for you.  We will have an informational meeting on Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:00-8:15 in Mr. Pitcher’s room.  Contact Ms. Bickford or Mr. Pitcher if you have questions.
