Today’s Women’s History Month spotlight is on Gerldyn Cobb. “Jerrie” as she was nicknamed, was the first woman to pass astronaut testing for the Mercury 13 mission in 1960. Although, she wasn’t allowed to be an astronaut by law, Cobb passed all the training exercises, ranking in the top 2% of all astronaut candidates of both genders. Today, 70 women have now served as astronauts in space.
Our CMS Volleyball Girl's will take on Effingham Tuesday, March 11th at approximately 5:45 in the 2nd day of Regional playoffs. The girls would appreciate your support on Tuesday.
Friday, March 14th will be a half day attendance for our school district. CMS will dismiss at 11:45. Spring Break will be March 17th-March 21st.
