EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
BAND
The Jefferson Band program is offered to 5th and 6th grade students. All band rehearsals are held at the beginning of the school day. Group lessons are scheduled for each student twice a week during regular school hours. In addition to the band's weekly rehearsal, public performances are scheduled throughout the school year including combined band concerts before Christmas break and in the spring.
CHORUS
The Jefferson Elementary School Chorus Program is open to any 5th and 6th grade student wishing to join. The 5th and 6th Grade Choruses are curricular ensembles which meet twice a week in the mornings from 8:15-8:45am and perform various performances for their community and school throughout the year. Students receive a weekly grade for their participation based on attendance, effort, attitude, and classroom preparedness. Through scheduling, it is possible for students to participate in both the band and chorus programs. Also, because our rehearsals take place during the school day, students can be a part of chorus and not have it conflict with extra-curriculars/sports/etc. You can do this program and still be a part of a lot of other things. We are just looking for students who love to sing and perform!
JEFFERSON WORLD DRUMMING CLUB
Jefferson World Drumming Club is an after school performing group, which rehearses once a week. Students audition for the group and are required to show ability in playing a number of percussion instruments and vocalize or express an interest in learning how to do so.
