The year is 1928. The champagne is flowing and the guest list is brimming with celebrities and movie stars. It is all glitz and glamour until someone steals the “Abandon-All-Hope-Diamond” from the silent screen star, Miss Gloria Swansong, and all the radar and iceberg detection devices suddenly fail. It is up to YOU, to help solve this hilarious whodunit. On Friday, September 20th at 6:00pm, the CHS A Cappella groups, Maximum Forte and the Power Chords will be hosting their annual Murder Mystery Dinner fundraiser at the Bella Vita Private Resort. In addition to a wonderful meal catered by Niemerg's and a really funny and interactive show presented by the Central Illinois Stage Company, there will be musical performances by members of Maximum Forte and the CHS Power Chords, CHS’s premiere outreach choral groups. Tickets are $25.00 and all proceeds from this event will go to support our a cappella ensembles this year as they go out and compete and perform. See any Maximum Forte member, Power Chords member, or Mrs. Sharp for tickets. Tickets are only available pre-sale and will note be available at the door.

The Special Olympics family festival on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Lake Land College needs volunteers.  Flyers are posted around the school or stop by the front office to sign up.

Today we remember those who lost their lives on 9/11.

Today’s quote is by Sandy Dahl – wife of Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl

“If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.”
