We still have a few spots remaining! Charleston Community Unit School District 1 The Charleston High School Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is excited to announce that we are bringing back Kermit's Cove Preschool for the 2021-2022 School Year. Kermit's Cove is a preschool program for children ages 3-5 years old who are fully potty trained. This program will be implemented by students enrolled in the Child Daycare Services course at Charleston High School, at the same time a CHS teacher oversees the program as part of the Child Daycare Services course. This program allows high school students enrolled in the CHS Child Daycare Services course hands-on experience working with preschool-age children while they plan and use developmentally appropriate practices that promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of young children. Students will create developmentally appropriate lessons and activities to support classroom themes and learning experiences for preschool children. The Kermit's Cove Preschool program will begin on September 13, 2021. The preschool will operate Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 am to 9:30 am and will follow the Charleston Community Unit School District 1 academic calendar. Kermit's Cove will accept 10 preschool-age children into the program for the 2021-2022 school year. There will be no cost to families for the program for the 2021-2022 school year. Transportation must be provided by the families whose children are enrolled in the program. Interested families may complete the Kermit's Cove registration form and return the form to the Charleston High School Guidance Office. Or EMAIL it to Mrs. White at pendergastwhited@charleston.k12.ilus. Enrollment for this program will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a child is enrolled in the program, families will receive more information about the program after the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Here is the link for the registration form. https://5il.co/vmbz
