The Carl Sandburg coloring contest for the Scholastic Book Fair is underway! If your student is interested, please remind them to return their coloring page on Monday, October 11th. Voting will begin on Tuesday!




Carl Sandburg students practiced their evacuation drill on Wednesday. Thank you to the Charleston Fire Deparment for helping us get to our meeting place safely and for the presentation on fire safety!

Students from Carl Sandburg visited The Capitol Building and Lincoln’s Tomb. Another stop was the Abe Lincoln Presidential Museum where students filled out a challenge paper as they discovered facts about Lincoln.





Third graders from Mrs. Bosler’s, Miss Coffman’s, Mrs. Wilson’s and Mrs. Evans’ classes enjoyed a field trip to Springfield. The students have been studying about Illinois and Lincoln in social studies.
