Congratulations to the Carl Sandburg Students who worked hard to complete the 2021 Winter Reading Challenge in the library! The "Time Challenge" students read 6,480 minutes, the "Chapter Challenge" students read 925 chapters, and the "Book Challenge" students read 1,122 books!

Mrs. Bosler's third grade hybrid class wrote biography reports this past quarter. Students then decorated bottles to look like their famous person and presented them to the class.
Mrs. Van Meter's class is determined to catch a leprechaun!
Our last theme for Read Across America Week at Carl Sandburg is "Snuggle Up With a Good Book!" Students can wear jammies to school Friday and listen to a bedtime story during Morning Meeting. Build a fort tomorrow evening as a family and read a great book together inside!
Tomorrow's theme is "Exercise Your Mind with Books!" for Read Across America Week at Carl Sandburg! Students can wear exercise or sports clothing that fit within our school's dress code. The family activity for tomorrow night is to learn the Cha Cha Slide and have a dance party!
The Read Across America Week theme at Carl Sandburg for Wednesday is "Read My Shirt!" Please have your student wear a shirt with words on so we can be reading ALL DAY! The family activity is to design the paper t-shirt using the 4 buttons your student picked out last week.
Tuesday is Dr. Seuss' birthday and we are celebrating at Carl Sandburg by dressing up as a favorite Dr. Seuss character or wearing red and white! The packet includes some fun Dr' Seuss inspired recipes to try as a family ...enjoy!
